Last week we had several rainy days, so I got out the sewing machine and made some microwave bowl cozies. A friend told me about them so I did a google search and found several tutorials. The tutorials said they must be made with 100% cotton batting (I used warm and natural), 100% cotton fabric and 100% cotton thread (I used Essential from Connecting Threads). You place your bowl of soup (or whatever you want to heat up) inside the "bowl cozy" and then place in the microwave. When your food is ready you hold on to two of the corners or the sides of the cozy to remove the bowl and and take it straight to the table. Here are pictures of some of the ones that I made.
